Passwords must meet the following minimum requirements:
Not contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters
Be at least six characters in length
Contain characters from three of the
following four categories:
A password must be unique to the previous 4 passwords used.
To change your password perform these steps once you have logged into your workstation:
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click "Change password".
2. Enter your old password, enter your new password, Enter your new password again to confirm it, and then press ENTER.
Messages to expect when password expiration is turned on:
You will receive a warning message that your
password will expire 14 days prior to expiration every time you log onto the
network.
When your password is older than 90 days, you should see a message indicating
that your password has expired. You will be presented with a button which reads
"click here" to change your password. Clicking this button will allow
you to change your password and continue.
When your password does not meet the complexity
requirements, you should see a message that says “Unable to update the
password. The value provided for the new password does not meet the length,
complexity, or history requirements of the domain.” Click OK and try
again.
